Do you know how many times Thomas Alva Edison failed when he was inventing the light bulb? I don't know the exact number but I think it was in the hundreds! A true failure is someone who quits trying.
I am in my 3rd session of WDW and have lost approximately 20 lbs. If I focused on that fact only it seems hopeless for me. (I have about 80 more to lose) The fact is that I need to focus on what I am learning about God and His love for me and not on what I am not learning.
"Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls." Matthew 11:29 (Amplified Bible)
"It is written in [the book of] the prophets, and they shall all be taught of God [have Him in person for their Teacher]. Everyone who has listened to and learned from the Father comes to Me---" John 6:45 (Amplified Bible)
"Although He was a Son, He learned [active, special] obedience through what He suffered And [His completed experience] making Him perfectly [equipped], He became the Author and Source of eternal salvation to all those who give heed and obey Him." Hebrews 5:8-9 (Amplified Bible)
I figure it this way, if I was given immediate deliverance from food addiction I would miss out on learning how to be obedient to God and to love Him with all my heart, soul, and mind and thus miss His eternal blessings and permanent deliverance from over-eating. So let's you and I keep on keeping on until we die or Jesus comes back, which ever comes first.
The victory is in Jesus and His abilities not on our own. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!!!
I will be praying for you. Pray for me!
Love and peace, Marcia
